Hamburger Veggie & Pasta Soup

Ingredients:
1 1/4 pounds ground beef
1 medium onion, diced
2 teaspoons minced garlic
1 28 oz can diced tomatoes
1 10.75 oz can condensed tomato soup
1 qt beef broth
1 teaspoon dried thyme
2 bay leaves
2 cups frozen vegetables
1 teaspoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
2 cups small pasta, uncooked
Directions:
Brown the ground beef with the onion in a Dutch oven. When almost done, add the garlic and cook for 1 minute more. Add all of the remaining ingredients except the pasta. Simmer on low heat for 40 minutes. Meanwhile, cook the pasta. After 40 minutes of cooking the soup, remove the bay leaves and add the pasta. Stir to combine.
